Otis who is the same age as Beulah, stood on the watering can and chewed the spout today, he dives for the tissue, when I clean up his wees, he was snorting an old pair of shoes earlier, during his nutty five minutes ( he has a nutty five minutes where he tears about the place) . I tried that chew detererrent , useless, he has clawed a patch out of the wall, and loves gnawing the handles of a cabinet. Im just thinking once the teething stops, so will he , mmm maybe I should stop him. My furniture is a bit old and rustic (batterd!) anyway, so Im not to worried, when he chews it. In the garden he dug up some cat poo and eat it, yeeuch ! he chews stones, eats earth, grass, gnaws wood. Maggie

They are crazy little things aren't they? Oh yes she's had a go at the watering can. She chews stones, sticks, I have caught her with snails trying to chew bees, the list goes on. I will post a picture tomorrow of our temporary barricade in the garden. Basically the previous owners had a bark area at the bottom & I have been dying to get rid of it for ages horrible stuff & she is constantly going & chewing that. It also gives my boys a chance to have their garden toys out without them being chewed too (the boys & the toys!). Be prepared to laugh - my garden looks awful at the moment! funniest of all she has "claimed" the boys trampoline & likes to sit with her latest treasure on it :)

Yep, crazy but oh so loveable. Got to watch out for snails because of lungworm. How is Beulah with the children and mouthing ? Only very very occasionaly has Otis got overexcited and sort of snapped at me, not really biting, when he does have his funny five minutes, I tend to let him burn out by tearing around, because it dosent last. He is quite a chilled pup really, dosent constantly mouth thankgoodness, but goes through about 15 mins, of thinking Im the best thing to chew, and its painful ! Maggie

Yep I know about the lungworm risk I think she is trying to make me go grey. Nipping/jumping up are her worst points at the mo - especially jumping up my 4 yr old. It's like she knows he's wary. I am doing clicker training with her & I have noticed I get her attention 90% of the time if I'm just holding it. I'm trying to clicker train her when the boys go through the kitchen stair gates & whilst they are outside - kids are very exciting to puppies of course. She is always trying to nip at me & mouth - I tend to discourage it mostly just by moving away - she has done it v hard a few times so I just said ow v loudly & then went inside/outside without her for 5 minutes. She hates being on her own so this seems to be getting the point across. However her best points at the moment are.....going in her crate with no fuss a new development & not crying at night when she goes in, she goes in for a rest now to get some peace & quiet & I swear she was sulking at me today because I washed her duvet (our old double stuffed in a disney cars single cover) & it was drying - as soon as she saw it go back in she settled down to sleep. Also I don't want to jinx it but I have hardly had to clean the floor if you know what I mean for a whole week now :) Proud lab mummy!

Ah the puppies are starting to grow up now,you are all doing very well with them.

Dexter has never really been an illegal chewer.....thank god,wed have no house left the way he can destroy a chew toy.We have a totally open plan downstairs and his area is the utility room with a child gate on it.He only has free run if we are downstairs with him,if we go upstairs for any length of time( we don't let him go upstairs)he gets put behind his gate.A correcting Ah ah usually stops him in his tracks if he goes for something of ours.......NHM we have arrived at this state of affairs with no training, just supervision.....but that's easy for me to say as he was older than Beulah when he arrived and we don't have children. My neice and nephew come everyday ( 2 and 4) and it is open season then if they leave their things on the floor he will just grab them...so again we try to supervise, even Sophie 2 is quite good at putting her things up out of reach....been a few tears though when the Teddy's been grabbed!
Also, puppy cuddles are THE best.......Dexter isn't so cuddly anymore,he's a teenager now though so maybe it's not cool :'( so enjoy them when you can....and you grab a nap when you can,bet it's busy in your house!

    LOL !!!

Good luck with that! Riley loves plant pots and he doesn't care if there's anything in them or not ;D

Ah bless her!! It looks like one of those name and shame pics. All Beulah needs is a sign round her neck saying "mummy left me for less than one minute and I ate the plant".

She looks funny doesn't she? Luckily it was a tray of neglected cabbage plants I never got round to putting in the ground - fingers crossed the staked tomatoes get away free! :)
