After my comments on Pippa's latest health article I thought you might like to meet Monty. He belonged to my friend Roger and along with Zach the Clumber Spaniel were the first dogs I got to know really well. It was Monty that stole my heart though - with those big brown eyes and otter tail in perpetual motion. The tip of his tail was bald from it constantly hitting things and it never ever seemed to stop. My boys don't come near in the wagging stakes! It was after I split with Rog I realised I really missed the dogs  so when I seriously thought about getting one a lab was an obvious choice. I'm really pleased I did.

Sadly Monty was put down last year at the age of 12 not before teaching Rusty puppy some true labrador tricks like putting your front paws on a lap to look like you're wanting fuss but really get a crafty sideways look at what is on the table. ;D

In case you're wondering - it's not the camera angle Monty really did have very short legs!
