Bruno is unwell again, have an appointment later today with a new vet. Need advice on what to do, his constantly crying, off his food and didnt want to come out his crate today, so the same as the problem a few weeks back. This has tried to be treated 3/ 4 times and gets better for a number of weeks and happens again. Want to know what i should say/ tell the vet? Do I demand something different if they give me the same medication? do i demand bloods taken?

I just want Bruno better and this has been going on too long.

If it's a recurring problem, I would want to be getting to the bottom of it and not wanting the vet to assume each case is isolated. So, yes, if your instinct is that more needs to be done, demand more. Hopefully this new vet will have more answers than your previous one. Let us know how it goes.

I have to say, my answer to things like this is see a specialist. My vet is great, but he is not a specialist in everything - skin, orthopeadics, cardio etc. I have always been shocked at how expensive consulting a specialist is, but looking back on my experience, I've spent more on repeated vet visits that have failed to solve the problem....at least all the specialists I've seen have sorted out the problem, and relatively quickly.

I would definitely be asking for blood and stool tests to be done. Surprised this hasn't happened already, to be honest. Hope Bruno is feeling better soon.
