Hi everyone Just a quick question when would you take your dog to the vet for a limp? We were at a BBQ last night when Indy suddenly started limping, it didn't seem to bother him much as he was still running around playing ball, however, I did manage to catch him and put him on his lead for a bit to try and rest it. This morning it doesn't seem to be any better. I have checked his paw, nails, joints, leg etc and cant feel any swelling or anything a miss. I'm not too sure what to do he is going to the kennels on Thursday as we get married and I'm worried about his leg. would you give it a day or two to see if it gets better or take him to the vets. Is there anything I can do or give him which would help. Any advice would be great, thanks
Go to the vet. It might just need resting, you don't know though. It will help you to enjoy your day, knowing that you have not left it. Congratulations!
With a view to the timing I would say go to the vets today.. And definately rest him today. All being well it will be a sprain or strain, something he bumped or banged while he was playing. Congratulations in advance for Thursday x
spoke to the vets and they advised to rest him for 24 hours and see how he gets on, no walks for Indy today. thanks for the congrats
Hi Pippa if Indy shows any sign of discomfort tomorrow take him for a check up. As the owner of a girl with Elbow Dysplasia I'm always anxious of young dogs displaying limps. Fingers crossed that rest resolves and that all goes smoothly for the wedding
Hopefully he will be better tomorrow. If not I would pop him to the vets to be on the safe side. Congratulations for Thursday
Congrats on the wedding Thursday! My oldest lab was also often limping when she was around 5 month. After a view days rest she was well again. I was told that she was having growing pains, like children can have when they are small..... I'm not sure, but she never had the limping again after 1 year! Annemarie
sorry everyone I havn't been on for a while. His limp cleared up all on his own hopefully it was just growing pains etc. Thank God. Thank you all for your concern. This month a new challenge I shall do a new post. Thanks x
