my adorable 12 week old puppy has started waking at 2-3 am every night. I put him out in the garden for his last wee etc at about 10 ish even if he sleeping. He appears to have created some routine! I have tried ignoring the cries and sometimes it works but usually have to go to see him as it wakes the entire house! He is almost toilet trained so i am wondering if this has anything to do with it as he feels he has to go outside. Any help greatly received as the sleep deprivation is taking its toll!

Sorry to hear you are having your sleep interupted!

I would try breaking the habit - although it will sting a little :) Set your alarm for a time earlier than he wakes, say 1.30am. Without speaking go downstairs, let him out for a wee and silently put him back into his crate.

If you do this for a few nights, you can by increments of 15 minutes make it gradually later.

This should break the habit if that's all it is, and within a few days you should have silent nights again.

This article has soon good advice on this subject if you want to check it out.
