Hi all. New to this forum and enjoying all the reading We added a black lab puppy to our family on Sunday. The gentleman we got her from said he flead and chipped her on the Saturday. She had her first injection on the 7th and is booked into have her second on Saturday. Land she's just turned 9 weeks old This morning we've noticed she's loosing her fur at the base of her neck/top of her back, the place were all of the above would have been done. If she's allergic what is it more likely to be. This has got is quite concerned. If it's a medical issue I need to take her to the vets for that's fine as I insured her as soon as we got home and I'm sure that the breeder would help. Thanks for reading
Hello and welcome to the forum. It's always difficult with skin things to make any useful comments unless you can see and feel what's going on, so your vet is going to be in the best position to advise you on this (if you have been lurking you probably expected that!) I haven't ever heard of a reaction to the chips or even the vaccine. There is lots of (unsubstantiated?) anecdotal negatives about topical flea preparations. Including Front line. If there is just hair loss and no itch or soreness then that would be odd. Think it needs to be the vet. Unless anyone else has any clues.
Sounds like she's had a reaction to the flea treatment, to me. I'd be straight to the vets to check. Oh, and welcome to the forum! Do let us know how you go on and what the vet says.
