Hello, I've just joined the forum. On 3 September I'm getting a seven week old pup for walking. Her name is Dawn and she's a black lab/retriever cross. I've never had a dog before, but looking forward to it. Both Dawn and I have a lot to learn. I live in Surrey.

Hello! Oh how wonderful. We have Mags on the forum who does guide dog puppy walking too. We absolutely love following the pups on their journeys....a very warm welcome indeed!

Hi Lorna and welcome from me and Juno, my 14 month old chocolate girl from Normandy, France. How fantastic that you're going to be a puppy walker for little Dawn :D. It's lovely to have another puppy in training as we also have Twiglet with her forum poster Boogie, and previously Boogie had Gypsy who is now at big school. Look forward to seeing some photos of little dawn very soon and hearing how she settles with you .

    Hello Lorna!
A very warm welcome to you and your imminent arrival :)
How exciting for you - and brave. We very much admire the work put into Guide Dog training, and as Rosemary and Julie have mentioned, have followed both Gypsy and now Twiglet via Mags (Boogie). And of course we love the puppy pictures!
    Are you all prepared?

Jac and Lilly (5 year old pet black labby girl)

Thank you for the welcomes! Yesterday I fitted a guard to the back of the car (easy) and fitted one baby gate. Not easy as it was my first time, and I was on my own. Another one to fit today. I've got the bed ready to put in the crate, and left it for the cats to inspect. And I'm reading the Happy Puppy handbook. I've organised a chap to come and fit a darling picket fence for the "spending" area. It's part of the drive in front of the garage. All my neighbours will hate it, but I think it will look fine.

    Eek. Very excited!

Enjoy her while she's teeeny tiny - it lasts NO time at all! I went to visit Picasso yesterday, 8 weeks old - such a little poppet - Twiglet seems HUGE now in comparison!! :)

Picasso is a black Golden Retriever / Flatcoat cross - he's gorgeous!
