Hi everyone, havent been on here in a while now, couldn't get logged in when the firum changed and then it became one of those things i would sort when i had time, and with starting a new job and then putting our house up for sale (as well as life with two 1 year old labs!)

The boys are doing really well, they are now 15 months old, i can't believe where the time has gone!! They are simply a dream to have around, so loving and such great fun. We have had some wall/door chewing/digging when we've been at work, but hopefully that has passed now, though as I work in a school and my son in a college, it is around 3 months since they were left regularly. We have a sog walker who takes them out two lunchtimes a week and they adore her! Imhave still had her tomwalk them once a week through the holidays so they stay familiar. We passed her on a walk a few weeks ago, she was with a local 1 year old lab and the boys were thrilled to meet him, but once they recognised her they were just ecstatic! It was so lovely to see how much they love her (though i was a tad jealous lol). On the other lunchtimes we have a rota between us. We invested in Haltinhead harnesses which revolutionised our walks, i can now take them both out, when prior to that my hubby even struggled to walk them as they pulled so much.

The only issue we have is that we can't let them off lead, they just run off together, and every field near us has access to a road. We have tried them separately and they just run like the clappers! I have purchased Pippa's book total recall and we are going to start working through that. They have plenty of off lead exercise on our garden as it's really long and we have been training them to a whistle which has been 99.9% successful - on all but one occasion they have come back to the house instantly they hear two toots of the whistle.

Barney couldn't have off leash exercise for a few months as we thought he may have hip dysplasia, and by the time he could, he had forgotten all his recall training and just enjoyed the freedom too much to come back

We are off to the Lake District on Tuesday for two nights in a dog friendly hotel overlooking Windermere, and we are really looking forward to some lovley walks round the lake and lots of paddling.

Hope you all and your four legged lovelies are doing well.

    Lou x

Apologies for the typos, but the preview wouldn't work and neither will the edit function :/

Lovely to hear from you :) Sounds like the boys are going great and that you've got a fantastic holiday ahead of you!

I'm not sure why the preview thing didn't work for you.... With the photo posting you have to do it from Flickr or a phot hosting site, just like on the role forum. Despite appearances, it won't let anyone attach a photo directly to a post.

Nice to hear from you . Sounds like the boys are keeping you on your toes . Good luck with your recall training - it is hard work but so worth it when you see them running free
Enjoy your holiday and I look forward to some photos
