Out walking the fields yesterday and met up with Lady's friend Leo (Golden Retriever) and his owner and we walked round together. We had been throwing tennis balls for the dogs when Leo's owner let his hand dangle with an apple in it. I think Lady thought it was a tennis ball but she came through on the fly and took it neatly out of his hand! Leo was MOST interested in this and normally mugs Lady if she has a tennis ball whereupon Lady backs down to Leo in a most submissive way. However, food is quite a different thing and she happily ate the whole apple with her bum in the air, hackles up and legs splayed on either side of the apple as Leo looked on and paced round pathetically. We both laughed at the dogs antics. Must remember to rplace the apple!
