Hi there, I'm a First time Puppy owner to be!!
We are due to collect our 9week old black lab next Sunday.
I work from home 2 days per week and my husband plans to take the puppy to work with him (it is his own business) on the other 3 days.
Is this ok while the pup is still being house trained?
Will the training techniques work in both locations? Taking him outside to a designated place at home and then at the office also?

    Any advice hugely appreciated!
    Thanks

Welcome to the forum :) How exciting that you're collecting your puppy soon. What will you call him?

Your plan to have your puppy in two locations and therefore toilet train in both locations sounds just fine to me. He'll cope with that for sure. Your puppy will get lots of exposure to new people and different places right from the start and that's perfect for his socialisation and development :)

    Welcome to you :)

Yes, He will be fine to be toilet trained in two locations.

    Exciting times!

If you haven't got it already the Happy Puppy handbook is a must! I am on puppy #3 and I still refer to it often.

Hello and welcome from me and Lilly - The Happy Puppy Handbook is really great.
I suspect your husband may not get much work done in the first few weeks. It can be pretty all-consuming this puppy business.
Great that you are thinking about all this.
    Wishing you luck

We are in a similar situation and a few weeks ahead of you. I decided to work from home for the first two weeks to help our pup ease in....she now comes to work with me and seems happy enough.

I can't say that the first few weeks have been very productive for my workload as she has taken a lot of close attention! However, we've had no toilet accidents for a few days now so it's all paying off!

    Best of luck!

Hi there - Murphy has gone to work 2 days a week with my partner from 9 weeks old, and was toilet trained fully at home and at his work by 13 weeks!! we have a crate at home and a duplicate one at his work, so its home from home, and its definitely been great in terms of socialisation for him - enjoy! it will be fine!
