This morning, when Charlie went out in the garden, there was a fox on the top of the wall - he legged it! He had to have a carry up the garden to his pee and poop spot!

All morning, my Dad has encouraged him up the garden, but he was not keen. Now, suddenly, he has "dogged up" and is barking like mad at the wall where the fox was - he'll fight that (empty) wall now!

I've only heard him bark once before, I thought I'd got one without a bark! It's a lovely deep "woof" for such a small pup (well, not so small anymore).

    Oh, puppies - so cute!

The breeder said none of her dogs bark so I was expecting him to be quiet and don't expect him to bark a lot, although maybe all puppies don't bark? When they don't bark much,it's lovely to hear!

Riley was very quiet as a pup and even now he's pretty quiet unless someone comes to the door then one or two barks and that's it his job of warning us is done and he looks at us expectantly :)

I bet that fox is shaking in his boots :)

Labradors have a top quality bark.

Obi is very talkative and has plenty of spare barks for anyone feeling deprivation in the bark department.

Thanks Obi - I do feel a bit deprived of barks! And you're right, top quality, deep, proper, lab woofs. No yappy nonsense from our boys and girls. Hmmm...now, where did i leave that digital recorder? Perhaps we should share quality barks.... Bark Appreciation Group (BAG) to go with HAG - love to hear Harry's bark...

Charlie has the strangest bark it's not deep like a Labs unless there is something approaching our house then it's deep, it's more of a yapping noise, not sure if that's a Pointer bark or not as I have never heard one. Any ideas?? Helen x

I was just saying to the other half this morning how nice it is that Pops doesn't bark when the doorbell rings. She goes to the front door and looks expectant, and will bark at a stranger at the front gate - quite a deep bark, too! But she is definitely quite sparing with her barks. ;)

Ah, it's lovely to think of Harry, thank you. They're all sleeping mostly in the heat. Luckily Harry just loves his water! So the pool goes out as soon as there's enough shade in the garden. Although it doesn't look like it, Harry's coat is actually quite thin, no undercoat, so he's relatively easy to keep cool.

We actually took a video of Harry barking at a man on next doors roof, because we'd had him nearly a year I think, before he made this noise! Helen, he's half pointer GWP, so this could be a pointer bark too? Or could be a springer, or could just be a Harry. When Harry turns to the door half way through, that's when you can hear Alfie backing him up from the kitchen!

Charlie never shuts up! I'm pleased to say her bark is getting slightly lower in tone, she's 4 months old tomorrow, so hopefully it'll keep deepening, fingers crossed.

Harry! That's wonderful! Thanks so much. ;D

I want to hear Sam's bark - now Sam is going to have the deepest lab woof I bet! But like Charlie, sounds like it's a rare event.

Not another sqeek out of Charlie, I'll have to wait for another wall that hasn't got a fox on it to come along :(

Amy barks if she can't get something, like her toy has gone near the scary blinds. (hope she stays scared). And at people walking past, we live on a corner so lots of people to bark at. (why do people/kids have to bark back at her!!!!)
