sdegg no problem. We all worry about our pups and I know that I've shed more than a few tears over Juno. Hope Rory is feeling better today.

Good to hear it's nothing too serious. Dogs are such a worry - if only they could tell us ...

Ah you poor thing; your worry and distress are really obvious through your posts! Hope things are looking up and that Rory will be back to normal in a short time.

I had a period like that with Poppy when she suddenly would limp badly and didnt want to put her weight on one leg. Of course I was terrified it would be a cruciate tear... It turned out to be a sprained toe tendon, which although it sounds like nothing, nonetheless required several weeks of rest and lead walking to get it properly sorted. Don't try and rush things, take it slowly and hopefully he'll be better soon.

He is a bit of a bugger because he will not slow down and because he's not been out he wants to jump around all over the place. I've been training small quiet things to try to wear him out no such luck

    Hi there,
Glad it was nothing serious but it's so difficult keeping them quiet when they need to rest.My big favourite when I needed to keep Dexter quiet after his tail op was cardboard.....any cardboard .......friends who are happy to donate their iPad /iPhone boxes becamem very good friends indeed,Apple packaging is strong! I used to put a few pieces of food inside whatever cardboard receptacle it was and he would basically chew himself out .....you have to live with you're house looking like a tip though ....but I didn't care x

i got some paper sacks and made a pass the parcel type thing with treat hidden in odd layers it drove him crazy and lasted. I've also been working on his stays and no jumping up and stuff like that he also had a make over yesterday which he loved.
I have labradors my house always looks like a hairy tip
    Sx:)

He's seems a bit quiet today and I'm unsure whats going on with him. he walked more this weekend and saw some of his friends and played a little. It might be another trip to the vets yet. Slow steady walks today.

It's been less than 10 days since he hurt himself - sometimes things like this can take a good long while to settle down. Maybe just a sustained period of on lead walks would do it. Best of luck with it, I hope it clears up soon.

As many of us on the forum know it's so difficult keeping Labradors quiet and calm. Sorry to read he's a bit quiet. Steady walks today are probably the answer, it is early days still. Best of luck x

Sorry to hear that he's feeling a bit sore today but it sounds as if he might just have overdone the exercise and then playing with dogs as well. Some more restricted exercise and no playing should sort him out. It's surprising how long it takes for them to fully recover, part of the reason myvet doesn't like Juno having Metacam when she's limping as it masks their recovery. Hugs to you, and try not to worry x

yep he was very restricted yesterday but we did have the walk from hell in the evening when all the muscle dogs were out an loose and ready for trouble. I huge fat lab tried to mount him as he walked in the park and he had to have words with it and I blocked until it was restrained, and the next door neighbours husky/ vile dog threatened us from the side of the park so it was not the best walk for calm even walking, because others could not keep their dogs under control. He was fine with mister sexy but he's really scared of the husky so we just went home. Its had Doug round the neck 3 times always trys to get me and has bitten midge twice not a fluffy bunny a very dangerous and aggressive dog. It is aggresive towards everyone and everything except the people who feed it. I really hated this walk. Rory was so upset he pulled and I could see he was uncomfortable and not in the mood for any training.
