Hi, I was just wondering if anybody can help? I have an eleven month old lab who constantly whines. He is a very vocal boy, always likes to give a moan or grumble when he is told to do something that he doesn't want to do, and even groans after a yawn (which I do not find a problem) but the constant Whinning especially in the mornings is really starting to get bad. He will start off at 5am which tells me he wants to go out and do his business, which I do, then I go back to bed then about an hour later he starts to whine. I have tried ignoring it, but he just gets louder and more persistent. I have tried clicking and treating him for his silence which he does and we can go silent for sometime but then the following day we are back to square one and the early morning Whinning. Please, can anybody help? Any ideas of what I can do or what I am doing wrong?
One of me labs is a whines. He used to whine a lot but isn't so bad now as I trained a quiet cue thanks to some advice from Rachael (Oberon). This is a link to the thread http://thelabradorforum.com/forum/let-s-get-training/clicker-training/4970-what-am-i-doing-wrong Training a whine cue and a none whine cue worked really well and quickly. I'm not sure how it will work with early morning whining but I hope it helps
