Baxter been back to vets, A couple of weeks we picked up the wrong food for him, we had picked up for robust puppy instead of just puppy. We noticed the kibble was a bit bigger than what he normally was on but thought it would be ok till we got the right one. Bad idea by the afternoon he had the runs. So back to shop got his original food and it seemed to settle.
He then reached the big six months and decision to cut feeds to twice a day was made, he loved the bigger amount in the morning but by afternoon he was having the runs again...maybe he has a delicate tummy?! so put him back to three times a day again.
Yesterday after a few days of being back to three times a day he was still running but by yesterday afternoon it was just watery fluid ( sorry tmi ) and he started to be sick. You could see it was undigested food. Kept an eye on him over night just gave him water.
Managed to get an appointment this morning and the vet gave him a good going over, she couldn't feel anything in his gut but he was a little delicate around that area. She said she couldn't hear any gases which he could get if it was a blockage. So plan was anti sickness injection, steroid injection, and kaolin paste. A few days chicken and rice and hopefully things settle. If not back for an xray to see if its something he's manages to scoff which he shouldn't have! All in all he looks the picture of health and thankfully not lost any weight.

Poor little man. I'm sure he's getting the very best of care and lots of cuddles. Hope he is completely better soon.

Poor thing, Jura had something similar recently. She picked up an infection, probably from something she ate, and it took a few days to clear her system. Anti diarrhoea injections on two days from the vets, pro-kolan and also a course of anti biotics cleared it up but her tummy was very sensitive after and I had to do a really gradual move from chicken and rice back to kibble.

Hope Baxter is back to normal soon

Hi thanks for the replies, just wondering.. we've now finished all treatment and bowels working fine so no blockage, I kept him on chicken and rice as his poo's are formed but still quite soft. Today is the first day on kibble alone, I'm wondering if it's still quite soft whether to try the puppy sensitive food or do you think i should just keep going with his usual? before this happened his poo's were fine. Do you think if i change things again it will just upset his stomach again?

I'd think just focus on getting him back on his normal stuff. Hopefully it will all settle down soon. Poor wee man!

I'd keep him on his normal food and see what happens. After Jura's tummy problems I seem to remember her poo's were soft for a week or so after she was completely off the chicken and rice and only on kibble again but went back to normal after that.

Hopefully things will settle back down again in a few days.
