I just saved a rescue black labrador who is 4 years old. I think she was abused in her past life and I'll have some things I'll need to train her on. First thing tho is that she pulls on the leash when I walk her. I don't like that she's trying to be in control. Any advice on an adult dog and teaching her NOT to pull?
Hello, a very warm welcome, and how lovely that you have given Lolani a loving home. There are a lot of articles that will help here: http://www.thelabradorsite.com/walking-your-labrador-on-a-loose-lead/
Hello to you and Lolani! Welcome to the forum. Pulling is a recurring theme on the forum and the link Julie gave you is a good starting point. Labs tend to be exuberant and want to do everything at full speed, including going on a walk! There are just SO many interesting smells and stuff to chase Some members have found harnesses a better option - not because it stops the pulling (training is the only think to do that!) but because they are at least not straining on the collar and half choking themselves which is horrible to hear and watch. I hope you manage to get some tips from the link to get you going. jac
