Hi. My red fox lab is 6 months old and has started been really vicious. It was just with my 6 year old son but now it's all of us. We can't even stroke her without been bitten. Any advise would be appreciated thank you. Amanda
Hi there, this seems a bit odd. I would recommend a vet check as I wonder if she could be in pain perhaps. Maybe you have already done this? jac
A very warm welcome to the forum. We often hear from people with teenage Labradors (your boy is just about to be a full on teenager) who are having problems with the dog nipping and behaving badly. It is rarely about aggression, but more excitement and/or how he is being handled. Children often feel the brunt of it, because they are often acting in a way that "winds up" the dog or sometimes even makes the dog nervous. Here is an article that might help, and there are lots more on the forum: http://www.thelabradorsite.com/how-to-cope-with-an-excitable-labrador/ Can you say more about your dog's routine - how much exercise is he getting? On or off lead? What kind of training are you doing with him, and are you attending class? Having said all that, if your really think your dog is aggressive, and especially towards a young child, then obviously seeking professional help as soon as possible is a must.
