Yesterday, I was cooking for a dinner party. The dogs were generally being really good at staying out of the kitchen, but then Willow came in. Just at the wrong moment, a box of cocoa powder fell over and it spilled out, all over her!!! Her entire head and back were brown. If it hadn't been chocolate, I'd have stopped to take a picture, because she looked hilarious! Luckily, she wasn't the slightest bit interested in licking it off herself and let me wipe her down. A particularly funny thing is that they have a friend, Alfie, who is also a black Lab and he and Willow are so similar in so many ways. He's been in Spain all summer and the sun has bleached parts of his coat, so he has brown "highlights". After the cocoa incident, Willow looked just the same
I've heard of that happening to black coated dogs. The food Juno was on as a puppy have introduced a kibble to help combat it . Shame about the lack of photos, can just imagine her face when it happened
Hehe that would have looked hilarious ☺. Shame you probably didn't get to laugh about it at the time, how did you clean it off without making runny chocolate?
Well, because it was 100% cocoa powder, unsweetened, it is a really dry powder, so I just used a slightly damp cloth and wiped in the same direction as the hair. Otherwise, it would have been a trip to the shower...
silly Willow.... Bella has gotten blonde highlights this summer making her even paler chocolate than she normally is!
