I was sitting with my Mom an experienced Labrador owner herself, when I noticed my pups tail is silly (6 months old) The base connection to her bottom is very thick and the rest is kinda skimpy. Not like it's supposed to be. And it has been a gradual thing, that's why I didn't really notice until tonight.
When I pointed it out my Mom said it was probably because she broke it really young. She always did do silly things with her tail.... I guess. But anyways what is your guys opinion first, on the situation, second, on how to possibly fix it?????

The tail... My fingers are where it turns silly and feels funny. The top part thick/muscular the bottom honey. Neither of my other labs have had tails similar to this one.

I can't see a picture of the tail? Can you put it up on Flickr, Photobucket etc and link it here?

I would have thought if she'd broken it you'd have known about it, although I'm not an expert. If you're worried, I'd go see a vet. It may just be that she has a skinny tail. My two and their sister all have different tails, none very Labrador-like.

It's hard to tell from that photo. It may be that she did damage it and there's some scar tissue that's thickening it slightly. If it's not bothering her I'd just ask the vet about it next time you're in. If you think it is bothering her maybe make an appointment to put your mind at rest....

Lots of labs, particularly working line labs, don't have the classic straight otter tail with the wrap round fur. My dogs is probably middle of the road for thickness with a slight curl in it.

Hmm, that bulge does look unusual. I'd be taking her to the vet - it could be swelling due to an infection or something.
