I will have to travel abroad on work . I will be away for a month and leaving Rocky in my husbands charge. Rocky will be at his daycare during weekdays and will be home in the evenings. My husband has never trained him or does not know his schedule for potty. I have written it on fridge and set reminders on phonebut my husband can sleep/nap through tornado . Rocky has not had any accidents in a month as I watch him like hawk still, I am so worried he will be back to puppy days of eliminating in house if my husband is not careful. Will he forget the cues taught? he is so good with recall and sit now:( Sorry for venting, just so worried!!!

Oh wow, a whole month! That's a long time!
I'm sure he will remember his cues, and you never know, your husband might even surprise you ;) Spending so long together, without you being there will help them bond and your husband might feel the need to step up as you aren't there to do all the training. Hope your trip goes well and i'm sure all will be fine :)

When do you leave? In the meantime you could take your OH out on walks and through Rocky's training schedule, cues etc. and toileting as well as writing it all down for your him just as a reminder ;) He will be fine, I'm sure. I think we all suffer from our OH's not quite following what we do but when it comes to it they step up to the plate - mostly  Have a good trip and try not to worry. xx

As others have said try not to worry, our OH's always seem to manage when it comes becomes essential. It may not be to our standards but our pups survive and seem to understand that there is a difference in expectations and training methods. Rocky will be fine and will go absolutely bananas when you get home after a month :D

Don't worry too much, your OH will come up trumps, you'll see! They'll probably bond very strongly in that time, and you'll come back and he'll tell you off for not adhering to HIS schedule properly!!

It will be fine :) And if Rocky's training slips slightly then it's no biggie - nothing that a bit of a training refresher won't fix right up. His bladder control will get better and better in that time too.

I'm sure you'll miss him enormously, but the trip will be over and you'll be home before you know it.

thank you everyone , It has been 2 days since I landed in India , fighting jet lag and managing calls from my husband ;) I wish they would listen more carefully when you explain things than call up at the nth moment. Full cup kibble/ half cup, Its time for potty , should I wake him or take him out later( you get the picture:) he is having accidents at daycare , he never did before which I am bit concerned . But he is fine at home.

At least he's phoning and asking. My OH still phones me when I'm away with questions about Juno and she's 16 months. Oh and questions about the cats and they are 6 years old.
