It has been a while plucking up the courage to write this.
We lost Kes on 27th July 2015 very suddenly one day she was ok and the next at the vets having bloods taken for investigation.
We brought her home and she lay down on the kitchen floor twitched a couple of times and then died.
to say we were devistated is an understatement, to lose a dog at anytime is awful. But your best working dog at aged 5yrs is not fair.
The vet said it could most likely be Hemangiosarcoma it was so sudden..
We had her cremated and her ashes were spread on the river bank at one of the shoots she loved, so at least we can be with her in the shooting season.

On a brighter note we went to select a new Black Lab Bitch puppy last weekend she will be with us by mid November, she can never replace Kes but hope she will help to remember her.

    Sue.

I'm so terribly sorry to read this - heartbreaking for you. :( I hope scattering her ashes in a special place brings you comfort.

Of course your new puppy isn't a replacement, but I hope she brings some joy back into your home.

Heartbroken for you...lovely thought to spread her ashes on her favourite shoot area....:)

I hope your new puppy brings some comfort. I now think having labs just makes our hearts grow...big enough always to have one more....

So very sorry to hear of your loss. It's always hard to lose a friend, but especially so young and unexpectedly. My thoughts are with you.

It must have been a dreadful shock for you and she was so young as well, I am so sorry. The new puppy will help and although we can never replace a dog we have loved, we can love a new one as a remembrance of the one we lost, who gave us the ability to love.

That must have been so difficult for you to write.
    So sad for you.
I think from listening to others that puppies have a real healing nature, and Kes will always be part of your lives

So sorry to hear your news - run free, Kes.

The new puppy won't ever replace her but will bring new joy and challenges, helping you to remember the happy times you had with Kes too.
