I saw this in another post about the different membership lables:

Is there a profile setting I need to change to go from Junior to Full or do I need to sit a formal test or bribe a moderator?

Don't worry, this clearly isn't an urgent or really important question.. I'm just procrastinating as my floors really need sweeping!

Hi Emily. You had a "user title" set of "Junior Member" which was overriding your membership level. This can be changed in your user settings, but I removed it for you so you can now see you are a fully-fledged Full Member! Come back to me in 8 more posts if you don't get upgraded to a Senior Member. There seemed to be a bit of a glitch in the way promotions were set up anyway, and I think I've fixed that now.

    Enjoy your new-found status ;)

From the list Emily posted you are a Hero member :) I don't know if I should be doing something to change my profile or if it is done by the site.

I think there are a couple of technical issues going on in the background. I know the administrators/moderators are aware of it and working on it so I'm sure they'll get it sorted when they get a chance ☺

Cath I already noticed that with you and, as it turns out after a quick poke around, many, many other people. There is some stuff that I can't get into which *may* fix this, but it will need a "super-admin" to have a look for you.

As it is, it seems that all of you with this issue (at least those I've looked at) are actually assigned Hero Member status, even though the title under your user name doesn't reflect that. Even when you shouldn't be!

To be honest, there's no impact to you on what level you are (or what it says) unless you have a Moderator cape (PS, still waiting for mine) so I wouldn't get too hung up on it!

Thank you Fiona. Don't worry about it I just thought it must be me, who had done something wrong. Junior make me young and I don't mind that :D

snowbunny Help, help - we were getting excited at the prospect of being an Hero and had started looking for the big pants and the cape :D:D. Juno's disappointed now that she's not getting a special outfit

Hehe, sorry, Rosemary, the capes are just for superheroes, aka The Moderators. You're more than welcome to wear your underpants on the outside of your trousers if you wish, though. Just don't hold me responsible for any strange looks.

There's something very strange going on with the admin controls because I've looked at your record and it says you're a Hero Member, whereas your title under your name there says "Senior Member". If I clear your user title, or if I change which user group you're in, it makes no difference to what's displayed there, so something is obviously being cached somewhere and I don't have the permissions to fiddle with any of that important stuff.

Just rest assured, until I can look into it further, that you are, indeed, a hero. Just in disguise ;)

We're used to funny looks, after all we are "les Anglais":cool:. Juno is excited about wearing a disguise and is trying to decide what she would like to be :rolleyes:
