;D FaceTimed with my boy the other day and got to see the pooch too!!! Update on the home front: Luke and he have come to a truce....he said Simba been "okay" the last little bit. My eldest is away due to his work and Simba normally sleeps in Josh's room. Luke's room waay too messy for Simba to sleep there, so Luke's leaving him to sleep "wherever" at night ....he's found him on the couches a time or two so couches and chairs now have kitchen chairs lying on them to prevent access Mentally adding up the list of things I'm going to have to deal with when I get home: 1) everything I was dealing with before, to which I add 2) stopping free access to furniture 3) counter/table surfing Sigh. On the upside, both dog and kid still alive.....
Re: FaceTime with Simba dont worry lisa,.....lots of training when your hope,.....love the bit your sons room is to messy for him to sleep in ;D
Re: FaceTime with Simba They are happy and healthy (if not well behaved...) and you are on holiday....it can all wait...
Re: FaceTime with Simba Your lounge must look like a poltergeist has been through it!nothing is unfixable...have to smile at the picture counter/table surfing brings to my mind....Simba with delight on his face....feel like organizing a whip round for Luke just for holding the fort !hang in there Lisa ,did Simba react when he saw you on FaceTime ? X
Re: FaceTime with Simba Lynne, you have no idea!!!! Honestly there's not an inch of clear floor space, I'm sure!! All i can say is that when Luke said he and Josh have decided that the best way to deal with Simba snatching things is to keep everything put away my husband honestly yelled out "Hallelujah!!" i think the dog earned a whole BUNCH of brownie points....good thing, as I'm sure he will need them!! I did have to laugh when Luke showed me the living room with all the chairs on the couches, etc. Good idea, I thought! Simba didn't seem to react much when I made all my exclamations of delight at seeing me....probably forgot me..... :'( Well, I'll just choose to believe he didn't really know it was me!! On the bright side, vacation is lovely and hubby is feeling relaxed and happy, so I can't complain!
Re: FaceTime with Simba Love it that you had face time with Simba The dog may not have progressed in his training but it sounds like the boys are coming along nicely
Re: FaceTime with Simba Hubby FaceTimed the boys tonight....update on damages: - knocked screen door out of patio doors in kitchen - door to closet where food/treats kept is now broken : - oh, and I forgot....last time I talked to Luke he told me Simba had figured out how to get into kitchen garbage....the door had a loose closure so not surprised. I was going to put some safety baby latches on that cupboard closure. Will have to do that when I get home. Come to think of it, not sure how Luke is keeping him out of the garbage now.... ACK!!!!!! All these things that I knew were a possibility now materializing....all these things that Simba know knows he can do that I have to add to my ever-burgeoning list of things I have to correct when I get home....!!!! AND still a month to go til we get home..... Let me just add that this looonngg holiday is truly needed for my hubby after a very stressful year teaching last year but somehow I think that as his stress is diminishing MINE is increasing....I can only say this to all of you here but I would truly be happy to be heading home this weekend!!! And I truly do hope my pooch will remember me....we had such a short time together before I left him....but a very intense time, I might add!!!
Re: FaceTime with Simba Lisa I am sure that Luke is religiously and conscientiously emptying the bins at overly regular intervals to prevent mishaps ;D..... Some of these things are things that can be dealt with easy .....locks on the cupboard doors,if your screen is like ours it should just clip back in......so don't think your list is getting out of hand. You were brilliant at prioritizing Simba's training before you left and you can do the same when you get back. I'm glad you are seeing a difference in your Husband and the holiday has been great for him....and I really hope for you too, despite your worries.the Boarding week will soon be here and that might make you feel a bit less frazzled. Of course he will remember you.....what was I like last month when I was away?I know we'd had Dexter a bit longer than you have had Simba ,we were back 5 minutes and it was like we have never been away..... That said,my anxiety levels are on the steady up....we leave again next week for 2 weeks I miss him already
Re: FaceTime with Simba oh dear....the damage a dog can cause is unreal jasper is a cushion muncher, i have been taking the cushions off when we go to bed, last night i forgot, my son was up first this morning for work, .....no cushions bust he fed him let him out into the garden why he got his shower,......came back down to find jasper in the garden chomping on a cushion ........another cushion in the bin ....... when will this stop ? or will it ever stop,....i have banned soft toys for this reason i know i am lucky its only cushions,
Re: FaceTime with Simba Oh no, another cushion!!! Soft toys don't direct his attention away from the cushions? It's an expensive habit of his, isn't it. We went out tonight and when we got back found that Obi had unpacked the contents of my bedside cupboard onto the bed - all my winter scarves, tights, beanies, gloves... Fortunately none chewed. Just a bit slobbered on...
Re: FaceTime with Simba i was giving him soft toys to play with, then he started on the cushions and his beds , so i banned the toys as i thought he was thinking cushions are like the toys i have been giving him.....i cant tell him off as i am not catching him in the act.......i just stand looking at him with cushion in my hand and sulk, i am sure he knows its wrong ;D i know the answer would be to rid the cushions but i like them on my settee, any ideas how to stop it,.....it seems like any thing with stuffing in he as to burst :'(
Re: FaceTime with Simba Oh dear, Lynne, sorry to hear that! I wish I had an answer for the cushion problem....hopefully at the very least it will be something he will grow out of!! Thanks for the encouraging words everyone....I know it will be fine so am trying not to let myself dwell on it too much. I'm not stressing about it too badly...and we ARE having a nice time so I'm determined to enjoy it!!

Within a few weeks or maybe months he will have forgotten about the cushions and the fun he used to have ripping them apart.
Re: FaceTime with Simba i will do that,....he is a little monkey, we have had loads of beds for him and he just burst them :'(......i wish it would stop, apart from this i not had many problems with him
