    Hi everyone,

Since Bob was neutered back in October he's become a lot more aggressive towards other dogs when we've been out and about. The problem has not been helped by the fact he's had a bad leg and a stomach upset since the op as well. So he's pretty much been house-bound and isolated from the doggy world bar some gentle lead walking since October. He's not had any off lead play for what seems like ages.

In a couple of weeks we are visiting family who have 2 labradors. How best to introduce them to each other? A friend suggested we meet for a walk first and allow them to play and get to know each other outside of the house environment. Then she suggested that they all travel back together in the boot of our car - to keep them 'in the pack' so to speak. And then let them all into the house together.

Would you agree with this approach? Or does anyone have any other suggestions?

    Thank you kindly.

    Lou x

I like that idea, EXcept putting them all together in a small space in the car. Is it possible to meet somewhere for a walk and walk back to the house together? There's a TV show I see once in a while, Pitbulls and Parolees. When they take a dog they hope to home to a new home with a resident dog they have the dogs meet out on the street, in front of the house, leashed, go for a walk, walk back to the house. Then they try off leash in the yard. I only see this show once in a blue moon but each one this worked. I just think of my own dog, he might be friendly with a new one we meet on a walk but the small space in his own car is another thing. Too hard to intervene back there and if intervention is necessary people's faces are right at tooth level.

I'd agree with Snowshoe ...I only car share with dogs we know very well and I only take one other dog with Dexter.....I've got a reasonable sized car but I think 3 could be a bit intense...especially if the other 2 live together.Dexter is quite lead reactive...I've alway met new dogs at an off lead area and given them a run and a play together with no problems ,when we get home they play in the garden and then we eventually move inside.....most times it takes a bit of settling down when they are inside, but it always comes and everyone finds their place.....usually the visiting dog in Dexter's bed...but he doesn't care because he's on the sofa!
Good luck with play date x

I would go for the walk with off lead romp then home but in separate cars and then let them have a short run in the garden before all going into the house together.

This is what I'd do too.
