well its just a taste of what he will be like on bonfire night.....jasper as give the biggest barks during the night, never done this before, i ran down to the sound of thunder, i am dreading the next bang ???
Re: was not prepared for this Oh no......bet you got a fright too...hope he has settled ,bet you have slept with him ;D Maybe try Rachael's suggestion about the balloons ......Julie said she was having good success with it . Hope the storm passes soon x
Re: was not prepared for this Sorry to hear that, Lynne I have to say, the CD (and balloons - although they are really for the fireworks next month) seems to have worked a treat as far as thunder is concerned (although, of course, I didn't have any evident problems and for all I know wouldn't have had any regardless). I'm sort of getting the impression Charlie is a bit of a baby wimp, but thunder didn't bother him at all. I also think him living on the edge of the flight path for Heathrow might have helped in terms of rumbling/roaring from the sky... Let's hope it all works in advance of the fireworks next month too!
Re: was not prepared for this had the fright of my life, he never barks in the house :'(......settled now, i just give him a cuddle when he hears it i am sure it will pass soon i will take a photo of him today angela when logan gets up
Re: was not prepared for this Just be a little bit careful of 'reassuring him' for showing signs of surprise or alarm. That may unintentionally reinforce his wariness about the noises. Instead, get some great treats and do some very simple and easy exercises with him to distract him (sit, spin around to follow the treat etc) and reinforce him for paying attention to you, and for being relaxed and ignoring the noises.
Re: was not prepared for this thank you rachael ....thunder seems to have settled, he is playing in the back garden now, so hope it didn't scare him to much.........i will take your advice, thank you ;D
Re: was not prepared for this I have just logged in to post about Amy's first storm. She sat at open back down watching the rain. She hasn't seen much, she doesn't look happy when it thunders. Just keeping everything the same. Just glad I am here with her, at work later.
Re: was not prepared for this My 18 year old daughter Grace was out walking Charlie last night and got caught in the thunder/lightening. Charlie didn't bat an eye lid, but Grace got back quick smart, never known her to move so fast ;D ;D Helen x
Re: was not prepared for this it is scary that thunder,.....to be honest i don't like it ...well done charlie
