At training, we had been doing sits, facing the owner, with the owner holding a treat at their shoulder level, without the dog jumping up. Tara was a star, not moving, but keeping her eyes on the treat. That evening, a neighbour came round, and sat on the sofa. Tara sat in front of her, looking lovingly at her. The neighbour was chatting away and, absent-mindedley, was fiddling with her ear ring. Suddenly, Tara jumped up and went for it, got it, and ate it! Three poop bags later, I found it - or the remnants, as she had chewed it before swallowing. Cost me a new pair of ear rings (thankfully the stones were not diamonds).
Sounds like they weren't pierced earrings? If they were the ear would be ripped? Little devil. Really though, how in the world could someone anticipate that consequence of training?
Oh my gosh. Glad you found it....I guess they didn't want it back! Hehe... When my first dog was a puppy we were in a training class with his breeder (who had kept a pup from the litter). In class one day she and my pup were playing around and the lead managed to get caught on her diamond earring and flicked it out of her ear onto the grass. We couldn't find that thing.... 17 years later I still do a quick glance round at that same spot at the dog club...
