Hi and welcome! First I'd take a trip to the vet to make sure he hasn't got a UTI. Is he confined in a crate overnight? If not, then I think i would start crate training immediately - he's probably lost sight of where he is allowed to do his business, but will be very unlikely to soil his sleeping area.

What time do you feed him? I would try to feed him well before 6pm, and to take his water bowl away when you put him to bed.

Don't worry, you'll get this sorted!

I find it strange that all of a sudden he seems to have both urinary and faecal incontinence. I don't think, I've never heard, of a UTI causing both. Definitely would be going the Vet, me.

Hi and thankyou no his not in a crate i didnt crate my cocker and he was fine i know its a different breed but i thought done it once we can do it again lol i feed him about 6 i dont think its a uti because in the day his good he goes out does his bit and comes in, its just of a night...

we are going to the vets to see about getting his bits done so i'll get him checked but like i say his good all day ill take his water bowl away didint think of that i have also tried coming down in the morning at 6 to catch him before he goes too late already done it so frustrating.

Could you just be feeding him a bit too much? I experienced this a long time ago with my first dog, a rescue Springer, and cutting down her food sorted it (though that wasn't wee, just overnight poo).
If you think he needs all his food how about trying going back to several smaller meals during the day?
And (assuming the vet says it's not a medical problem), have you thought about changing your food - some brands of kibble lead to more poo than others!

    Hello there, a warm welcome

My dog weed as he walked until he was well over a year old, he still does it now sometimes! It was because he was so active and curious about things, he just couldn't stop exploring in order to stand still to have a wee. It's just the kind of dog he is. :)

I'd go back to basics on toilet training, including noting down when your dog actually has a poo, not just that he has had the opportunity to have one. About at the same age as your dog, my male dog stopped pooing in the garden and only wanted to poo when out on walks. Then, a bit later, he also stopped wanting to wee in the garden. These days, in order to make sure he is empty of pee and poo before bedtime, we take him for a last walk around the block. Letting him out into the garden does nothing, he won't wee or poo.

I think lots of people with male dogs resort to the final walk before bed thing.

I have Princess Poppy with the Iron Bladder; she often refuses to do anything on her last trip out in the evening!

Such a girl! :D Right now, the streets here are littered with Christmas trees waiting for collection to be be recycled. Charlie says he has peed on every single tree for 5 streets around our house. It's been a tough job, but he has managed it.

(Before anyone says 'yuk!' someone has to pick those trees up - that's kinda just the way it is, thousands of male dogs in the neighbourhood have peed on them already!) :D:D:D

My Princess Tatze is also a camel with her wees - sometimes she only goes in the morning and evening and that's it, apart from walks!

I insist she does one last thing, but I'm often waiting for ages. If only I knew what I know now about training pups to go on command. Twiglet will squeeze one out for me any time any where!

Welcome to the forum from Hattie 8 years old and our rescue Charlie 5 years. Do you give your pup doggie biscuits or treats before he finally goes to bed? I know some owners do, if you do this could be the problem and he just can't hold on. Hope you get it sorted out.

    Helen x :)
