A few nights ago a friend brought her baby around. My daughter was cooking at the time and hubby and I took turns having baby cuddles. My hubby had the baby when dinner was ready and said he would eat his later. We ate our food, and Harley had her tea at the same time. She went on her bed once she finished as this is what we have trained her to do. Took our plates out, came back in the living room and released Harley. We were all sat down chatting when we realised Harley had disappeared.........my daughter went into the kitchen to find Harley, paws on the worktop eating hubby's corned beef hash . It was partly my daughters fault as she left it at the front of the worktop!. She has never, ever tried to take food from the worktop before! I leave her treats there when I go to work so my dog walker can give her something when they get back. I have left so much food on the sides before and Harley has ignored it (I know, very unusual for a lab!). I guess she likes corned beef hash
he he he,cheeky Harley!I'd have said Dexter was bomb proof too,but....we were all enjoying a takeaway a few weeks ago,Dexter snoozing on his bed.I got up to answer my phone and my sister left the room at the same time for something too...when we got back my naan bread was gone!My niece piped up that Dexter had got off his bed, snaffled my bread and then gone back to his bed and was feigning sleep!Little monkey! I was absolutely in disbelief!
Funny I just opened this......about 15 minutes ago I turned the oven on and prepared two chicken breasts to pop in it....left the room for two minutes, heard a thud, went into kitchen....didnt see anything unusual but Cooper (22 months) ran into the livingroom with something in his mouth but nothing I could see.....yes, you guessed it....when I went to put the chicken in the oven there was only ONE left!!! That thing went into his mouth and down his throat in 10 seconds or less.....a whole chicken breast!!! The scamp!! Lately I cannot leave anything on the counter if I am not in the kitchen with him. He usually is in the family room and rest of house is gated. Guess every month of a lab's life brings a different phase!!!! Hope he enjoyed the breast with salt and pepper on it! Aaaarrggghhh.
