Just back from today's session with our gun dog trainer. Start of the session this is me - yes Tony - he's much more confident now and flying out for retrieves, but he's not keen on going in the water. After several attempts to get him to "fetch" and he's just looking at me so I have to run with him to get him to move - hmm make me look a liar then at the edge of the lake - so excited he ran in and retrieved with huge enthusiasm - 2nd one he managed to stay but rushed in again when sent. Make a liar of me again then boy! I know most dogs like to make liars of us - Rusty seems to be a star at it!
Re: Rusty's mission in life He certainly does! yesterday wouldn't go for a retrieve - today flew out, sniffed the dummy and left it there and decided to have a sniff about yesterday would not heel properly - today heeled beautifully yesterday wouldn't run ahead so we couldn't even practice the stop whistle - today did it beautifully - then still wouldn't retrieve and ignored the dummies sigh
