We are still finding our way around our new home, but everything seems to be working nicely. If you've discovered anything useful, do let us know!

Hint from Fiona - to stop your age displaying to the world - click on your username, then on 'privacy' and uncheck your date of birth :)

To quote someone - use the reply button

For those that haven't noticed yet, one of our new features is a 'like' button - so if you haven't time for a reply, you can just give a post a like instead :)

I don't usually like change*. But even I am really pleased with the new forum!! Well done everyone who was involved, this is really really good. Looking forward to finding out more about how to use it best.

Much easier. I managed to do it in no time, and always struggled before

Click on your name at top right
    Click Avatar box
Click Choose file (select from your photos which should pop up, or at least your "explore" box)
    Click Okay
    Good to go

If your photo is not at least 200 x 200 pixels as it says it will tell you.
I fiddle with it in paint to get it right - hopefully you won't need to!

Just noticed before i logged on that i could see the thread Photos and video links, before the change over this thread used to be only available to members logged on. I don't mind but just wanted to mention in case you were wanting it private to members

One thing I've noticed is that when using the detachable keyboard with my tablet the emoticons appear where ever I place them :):D however

when using the onscreen keyboard the emoticon enters at the very beginning of the text regardless of where the cursor is - strange

A couple of us have noticed that posts aren't showing up as expected in the New Posts page. I think I've worked out why this is. When you click on the link, it shows a number in the URL. This number is associated with the particular results you see in the list. If you refresh the page by using the refresh button, so that number in the URL stays the same, then you'll see the same threads again. If there are still unread posts in the threads, they show as bold, otherwise they're normal font weight. But you won't see any new ones, even if new threads have been created or posted on in the meantime. In order to see those, you have to click on the New Posts button again, and that will give you a new number in the URL, with an updated list of search results.

A bit weird, but I'm sure we'll get used to it!

    Thanks @snowbunny!

I just want a straightforward view of posts in time order - nothing more, no fancy malarkey of what I've read and what I haven't (I have no trouble remembering that).

The best view for me is "members" and then "recent activity". That gives me my straightforward posts in time order view. :)

I just work through new posts from the bottom...
