    Hello Everyone,

Just wondering if anybody has recommendations for a good quality probiotic?
My guy is almost 5 months!

    Thanks

Juno recently had some unexplained diarrhoea so I have introduced Yumpro BioActiv into her diet, and it's so far so good. Yumpro is a complex of prebiotics and probiotic bacteria and is produced by Lintbells, the same company that produces Yumove. I went for this one as I'm already using Yumove Young & Active and their salmon oil. I would suggest contacting the company first though as it may not be suitable for a 5 month puppy, I've found them very helpful - even sent me a free sample of the Yumove Young and Active

Sam has probiotic yoghurt with his dinner most days, low fat as he has an intolerance to anything fatty . I only give it due to his habit of eating disgusting things before I can shout Leave ;) In fact, he is eyeing up the frog spawn in our ponds, for heavens sake

good ole plain yogurt is good enough. Lots of powder products on Amazon with reviews but store bought is just fine.

When Oban was sick we used Acidphilous (sp?) and Fortaflora (sp?) but both our regular Vet and the INternal Specialist feel kefir is ok for regular maintenance.

Probably everyone here knows, but just in case, if you use any sweetened products like yogurt make sure they are not sweetened with xylitol, which is deadly in small amounts to dogs and cats. It may be harmful to other sorts of pets too.

I've been using profibre too. Jura has a sensitive tummy caused by eating cat poo and this has really helped whilst I've been working on the "leave it" command.

Like Rosemary I use Yumpro bioactive. I used to use Protexin bio premium. It's slightly different to the one Paula uses as it doesn't have added fibre. I had very good results with it with my old lab who had suffered with colitis fot years. When I started him on the bio premium he didn't have an upset tummy again !!! The only reason I changed was because the bio premium changed from pellets to powder and Scout didn't care for powder on his food  although Scott didn't mind it.

I used Profibre for a while but it did nothing obvious for my two, so I stopped.
