Bet there has been much choking on tea at the title of that post!!!!

    Nothing serious,just precautionary......I hope!!!

When I was saying my goodbyes yesterday,I noticed Dexter had 2 little raised bumps of fur on his forehead, when I had a rummage they felt like little firm but not hard pimples.Chris took him to the vet yesterday ......it was our vets day off unfortunately so he had to see the vet I avoid like mad..... :(

Here's a picture after the vet had shaved a bit of fur off .....poor little fella!

In between much broken English( I know I sound awful saying that, his English is a lot better than our Arabic!) it was diagnosed that Dexter has an 'infection' Chris said the infection wasn't given a name or any possible source identified.,but he said it was probably lost in translation  I think he has been either bitten by something( although his treatments are up to date) or he had a good furrage in some Bougainville bushes after something the night before I left and those bushed are spikey.by the time he got to the vets one had come up on his muzzle too :(
Anyway, antibiotics, injection, and cream.....so despite not knowing exactly what it is I think that should hit it...chris has been told to go back on Thursday...when he will see our vet who is wonderful and will be extra wonderful when sees Chris and knows that I'm away ,wouldn't put it past her to Skype me.

Chris says he's fine in himself......just his looks are a bit spoiled at the moment with his shaved head!

I love the vet I see but have never thought about this scenario......god forbid there was an emergency and we had no choice but to see the Arabic vet........we wouldn't be able to understand him.Got to,give this serious thought......
Hope everyone well?liverpool is Sunny and instead of being awake for a dog at 5.30 am the blummin seagulls had me awake at the crack of dawn!nice though,
    Bye for now
    Angela x

Aw, poor little man. Hope the medication does the trick. I did worry when I saw the title of the thread!

His fur will start growing back pretty quickly. Pity the vet couldn't have made the shaving more decorative - two little flower shapes or something.

oh no! Well, it doesn't seem too serious, like you say a bite or scratch.

Hope your journey was good and you are enjoying family time.

I'm half asleep here, and I thought you said you should hit it. Reminded me of my great grandma, bless her, what ever bump you had, she reckoned you should hit it with the bible. I'm sure Dexter is fine. Have a lovely break Angela, enjoy catching up with your family. And if you weren't going to do enough dog toy shopping, think of what a wonderful excuse you have to spoil Dex now. He has baldy patches, that deserves atleast a 50% increase in gift amounts. ;D
