Our house is in uproar at the moment, OH is laying a new floor and there has been lots of banging, chiselling, even circular sawing. I was dreading it, I thought she would object to the noise etc. The only problem has been her desire to oversee the work and her little Labrador head has not always been welcome, she goes to her bed and slumps down with a sigh when asked too.

I even offered to cancel a walk I am leading tomorrow, but OH said "Go there is no point in you missing it"

I am truely Gob smacked that she has taken it all so calmly. Cannot claim any Brownie Points for it because I never trained her for that

See it just goes to show that she did know how to settle when asked ;). Well done Molly, in our house Juno is fine once she has said hello to the workmen, it's the cats who try to help :D. Enjoy your walk tomorrow knowing that all is fine :D

    Good girl Molly.
Enjoy that walk - sounds like you will both benefit from it.

    Well done Molly
We have been slowly been doing our house up. I used to put Harley in daycare when builders / plasterers were in. Recently a friend who has just gone self employed has been doing a lot of the work and he lives Harley. He says she greets him very excited, but after a few mins will go and settle down and sleep / watch him, even when he is hammering, building walls, plastering, using electrics tools etc......but if he uses a metal tape measures she barks at hm until he puts it away

Aw well done Molly! It's amazing what behaviours they pick up and just do without us having to put in a lot of effort!

We've had a few builders/electricians etc in and out over the last few weeks to fix a few snags we've have with our new build house. I thought Penny might get a bit funny with so many strangers coming and going in hi vis jackets and helmets but she's been good as gold! As soon as the doorbell goes I tell her to go in her bed and she will stay there until I tell her to come out again. It's not something I ever trained but definitley good practice and a good habit for her to get into especially with a baby on the way!

Seems that Labs are much calmer towards workmen than some breeds. Our old Cocker Spaniel would always interfere and steal tools, so have to be tied up or left in garden. Tara just says hello, then goes off to chew her antler.
