hello all I have Murphy who is 12 wks old he is very good boy learns well does sit down etc but having nightmare house training him !! He was paper trained and never had accident always went on his paper by back door and is crated at night and has never messed his crate !! Have been trying house train him in a morn when he gets up take him straight outside as know he desperate and will have wee and poo and treat lots with lots praise !! But during day lot harder will take him out regular intervals be out there sometimes 30 mins nothing come inside and will wee and poo in kitchen !! Was just wondering if anyone had any tips to help ! X
I have house trained 3 pups now and this advice is what I used each time - it works! http://www.thelabradorsite.com/house-training-your-labrador-puppy/ When you know he is ready but he has done nothing outside carry him around a while and try again. They don't piddle in your arms, then lots of praise and treats for doing it in the right place. Remember it's a slow process and puddles are inevitable! .
Will have another read up thankyou !! Have caught him in act a few times and each time just picked him and placed him outside but still does nothing !! Puddles not prob as always on tiled kitchen floor so easy clean up !!
It's also useful to have a small area for toileting, then the reward is to explore the garden after performing This is our spending area, inside the fence. .
That is really good idea as we have patio area then stoned area then decking so he just explores it all but I could block rest of and just have patio area !! Thankyou going try in morn and over wkend hopefully that will help X
