    On Miss Millie :)

Its one month since she came to live with us, seems like she has been here for always as she has slotted right in . We struggle to understand why this little dog was dumped as we have yet to discover any vices which we are sure would have surfaced by now ( we hope ) :)
What has become evident is that Millie soaks up training , she loves affection and is affectionate in return , she also loves food which has helped enormously :)
She hasnt had one accident indoors and does nothing when left , neighbours say they dont hear a sound . She copies Sam which is great and he loves her to bits . I try to give him some one on one training but to be honest , she is making life easy as I can throw his dummy for Sam and a ball for her in the oposite direction , she isnt interested in his dummy as its too heavy for her :)
Heart in mouth , I let her off lead after about ten days, had tried to judge her on a training line and she responded well to sausage , she scampers around in the wood with Sam but never far from my side , little velcro terrier , she also loves swimming and I will try hard to get a photo of them swimming together as it looks hilarious :) She loves children and greets other dogs politely , always happy to be called away to follow me . Every day she learns something new, her sit stay is fantastic, she also loves retrieving and having watched Sam , she will rumage around in the undergrowth for her ball , then run back to me with it . They do look comical together when onlead side by side , one dog weighing 37 kilos and the other a scrap of 6 kilos , raise many a smile :)
Best of all is that whilst its me who trains and walks her, its my husbands knee she sits on in the evenings so no jealousy issues from the big lad, he is still my special boy :)
Sorry for the ramble, just very very pleased with our little ragbag terrier :)

That is so lovely - what a wonderful addition to your family.

But Kate, we have to have swimming pics! Dying to see them. While Charlie has his pics of caddie, ziggy, and murffi above his bed, I can't help thinking some pics of Sam, the perfect role model, would help as my boy learns to swim this summer - he is even in Sam's river, albeit a few miles away.

I took them both to the beach early this morning as the tide was right out , didnt take the camera as there is a sea fret . Millie has been fine off lead at Golitha but a big expanse of open beach is a different kettle of fish altogether ::) Very few people around so I decided to risk it , she was hilarious, obviously not seen the sea before, ran down to the waters edge, eyes open in wonderment but didnt go in . She was a little star, never straying far from me or Sam, messed around in rock pool and then back to the cafe where biscuits are on tap , so thats another hurdle over ;D
Now both crashed out and snoring :)

Aw well done Millie having fun at the beach too and to top it all tea and biscuits after, life doesn't get any better :D Well done Kate, sounds like you got a little star there and with Sam watching over, no problem. Helen xxx :D

OH just sent me a sweet picture of Charlie wondering where the path has gone in the same sea fret yesterday (am on the train back from London, as had to dash back for a day, so will post in later).
