She just looks wonderful. I am still amazed that with all that responsibility and yet not quite 2 years old.
A beautiful girl who is going to make such a difference to her new companion's life. It doesn't seem possible that Guide Dogs are fully qualified at such a young age and with so much responsibility. Breeding plays a part but so much is down to the work of the Puppy Walkers. Not jut proud of Gypsy but also you Mags for all the love and work you put into helping her achieve her destiny Wishing her a long and fun life
I have news about Gypsy. She has been withdrawn due to her owner becoming ill and unable to keep her. This caused Gypsy some stress and the team decided it wouldn't be fair to train her with a new owner. The good news is that Gypsy's trainer fell for her and she's now living with her as her forever dog. She's sent me some lovely photos. She said "Gypsy is now no longer the property of guide dogs and is now a fully fledged member of the family. She definitely has her little paws under the table now and is loving a pets life. My mum adores her and spoils her rotten, she loves Leggy my old Swiss Shep and has great fun when I bring other guide dogs home (she's still bossy). I've attached some pics, she really likes my nan (87yrs) and the sofa he he and she has a ball too." It's wonderful to see Gypsy so happy and healthy, but sad she couldn't continue to guide as she was a star at it. I was offered her first but, very reluctantly and with very mixed feelings said no, as I would have had to stop puppy walking. When they told me her trainer wanted her I was really thrilled as she's the perfect person to be her forever Mum. I'm also very reassured that Guide Dogs put the welfare of their dogs so high on their priorities.
Lovely girl So sad that her Guide Dog journey has come to a premature end, but she just looks so happy! She's going to have a brilliant life
She looks so happy!!! That is a shame about the sudden end to her career but it's wonderful that her wellbeing was given top priority.
It's sad that Gypsy's working life was so short after all that preparation but great that she's got a lovely permanent home - and a ball!
Oh such a shame. Really reassuring though to see how well the guide dogs are looked after, despite the investment in them Gypsy looks so content, still, have a wee lump in my throat looking at the photos!
Sad in one way (and of course for the person who is now ill). But fabulous Gypsy is loved and happy - and now has tennis balls!
