I am new to the whole forum thing, and this is only my second post. From all my reading of other posts everyone has great advice so thought I would put another question out there. Does anyone else's dog do psycho circles - running around in the same 'circle' like a crazy possessed animal. DYSON runs circles which include from the door through the middle of the room, turn around and jump onto the chair, then over the top of the chair to the couch and back around again and again and again. Furniture flies everywhere. He is only 10 months old, however he has been doing this since very young.

Yep, normal Labrador exuberance. My first dog, Nicolae, did this regularly whenever a particularly happy mood struck him (and at all other times was a model of genteel decorum).

    Hi Cassie and Dyson,

Our lot have a circuit of the living room most evenings. It's up on one sofa, bounce to the rug, straight up on the other sofa opposite, turning like a swimmer on the back cushions, and rug... big sofa...rug..little sofa...rug..big sofa.. usually fills 15 minutes or so!! They have a similar outside route, that skims as many planters as possible.

All done with tails and bums tucked right under, for extra speed I reckon!

Yes, ours last about 15 minutes, and now that you mention turning like a swimmer, that's exactly what it's like! I couldn't quite find the words for it before. Definitely the same with the tail and bum pulled under for extra speed for sure! So glad we are not alone. Has us laughing our heads off and lots of squealing from the kids.

Riley butt tucks round the garden but it's not allowed in the house - we're meanies though as he's not allowed on the sofa at all !

We call it the labrador bum run - I see others call it the butt tuck.

Charlie corners round my antique Victorian floor vase. Must remember to move it before the next bum run. Although, I do try to usher him into the garden, or stop him by a distraction. OH, of course, gets the stop watch out and urges him on doing speed laps of the coffee table... ::)

Well technically DYSON isn't allowed on the couch either but when he gets going there really is no stopping him LOL!

    Hi Cassie and Dyson!
Lilly is quite a sedate 3 year old black girl. She does do the odd "zoomie", but isn't known to do the butt-tucking bit (think that maybe to do with her bad hips).
Sounds like a veritable whirlwhind in the house ;D

My Simba does this when he's swiped something illegal and then it's over the couch, around the room, over the chair, etc etc. He also does it outside around the yard, just for fun. :)
