I'm also 69 days into a dry spell but I think an incident like that might have brought it to an end!

How is it going, Heidrun? I've got to the point where it's really easy; I don't even think about it anymore. The strangest thing is that the thought of a glass of wine is really unappealing now. I think I'm broken! I wouldn't turn down a well-made G&T, though (once I get to the end of my 100 days), so all is not lost :)

It's going amazingly well! Like you say the longer I'm off the sauce the easier it feels. Had a sniff of my OH's glass of my favourite wine the other day and found it quite revolting! I'm drinking gallons of tonic water and don't miss the Sipsmith any longer. No idea if I'm broken for good. :)

Heh, I've been doing that, too. At first, it was a deep sniff and a long exhale ... "aaaaah, that smells goooooood!". Now, if I sniff it, it really doesn't smell good at all. I used some port in cooking the other day, and found the same. It smelled bad. I asked J to try it and he said it was lovely.
Even the thought of the bubbly on 10th April doesn't appeal. That's serious! :D

The test for me will be coming in a couple if weeks time when I go on holiday to Ireland with two girlfriends. They both like wine, and g&t and Guiness ... all the things I once used to like a lot!

Interested to know why you both have decided to have 100 dry days :)

My initial plan was to do Dy January. I was amazed at how much better I started to feel so I carried on through February and now Lent.

I wanted to be dry from 1st Jan for the rest of the ski season, because I'm working on training for some big ski exams (hopefully next year) and I ski better when I've not had any alcohol the day before. It just so happens that the season finishes on 10th April, when we have a party planned, and that will make 100 dry days.

Thank you both! I wonder if you will stay dry @heidrun for ever! @snowbunny, I hope you won't fall off the wagon too heavily when you have the party :D

I'm so glad that Shadow is OK after his dash for the cat and hope your heart is back where it should be very soon. Very scary moment for you all.
