Well I don't think anyone can top this. I started to crochet a cot blanket for my eldest son Sean who will be 30 years old this year. I still haven't finished it as it's a complete mess! x
I'm the opposite - I always think 'starting it is half of it'. Once I've started something and got going, I'll usually finish it (I mean 'things' in general, I'm not a knitter). But I'm awful for putting something off and not starting it!
Here's another link for a knitting pattern for a Labrador... http://www.canadianliving.com/crafts/knitting/how_to_knit_a_labrador_retriever.php It's from a book called Knit Your Own Dog or something like that which has patterns for quite a few breeds...
You could knit your own dog out of your own dog hair maybe. (sorry, this thread is heading in the wrong direction )

Just think how much more happy you would be to sweep up all the fur? Knowing that you would be soon carding and spinning and knitting it all up into a beautiful sweater? And just in case anyone wants to know, "chiengora" is the proper term for dog fur made into yarn.
You know, I have a finite amount of storage space in my little brain. That little nugget has now wormed its way in. I wonder what useful piece of information has been pushed out, to make space for it. I'll probably find I can't tie my laces next time I try.
Found it, it's gorgeous. I'm going to knit it (as I can't crochet) for my new grandchild due in August.
You're welcome. Tying shoes will probably stick, don't worry. And you don't really need to know where your insurance policies are, after all...
That's AWESOME!!!! The wife is going to get yarn and do some up for the folks we got our Molly from May have one on my desk in the near future as well
Yay! I've started already, using up some scraps of balls of double knitting. So my first labrador is going to be a multi-coloured affair, probably wouldn't get far in Crufts but I don't think that week-old grandson Ollie will mind too much. So far I've done head, tail, one arm and one leg.... am leaving the body and ears to last because I think I'll need to change colour for them. I haven't got hold of eyes or nose yet, I can't figure out what size will be right.... I've not made a soft toy before, so the assembly, stuffing and putting eyes and nose on is going to be the trickiest bit for me....
