    Hi everyone,

On Tuesday, Murphy and I are going down to salcombe in Devon to stay with my dad for a few days. He has never stayed anywhere other than home overnight and due to size I am taking and he will be sleeping in his car crate rather than he usual crate that he sleeps in. At home Murohy sleeps in the kitchen but I was thinking that as he will be in a new house in a different crate should I let him sleep in my bedroom with me? Or just see how he goes?
We will be getting him a doggy life jacket and taking him out on our rib so hopefully will get some good photos! Also can't wait to see him for the first time on the beach!
    :)

I would see how Murphy goes in the kitchen in a crate before putting him in with you as it might set a pattern thats hard to break when you get home , play it by ear :)
We are very lucky to have a beach ten mins from our home , dogs love it and if I remember, one of the beaches at Salcombe is dog friendly all year round , he will love it I`m sure :)

That sounds wonderful, lucky puppy. First time beach is just wonderful.

Even when he was very small, I found that Charlie didn't care about changing houses, so long as people he knew where there. He was fine to sleep downstairs as normal. If anything, allowing him very recently to sleep in my bedroom has caused more problems, because now he doesn't want to be downstairs and feels he should be allowed to sleep in my room. I regret ever allowing it. I'm sure all pups are different though.

Charlie was a bit wary of being in a small boat at first, and it took a while for him to be comfortable. A fast rib might be a bit scary - but then, since they are all so different, Murphey will probably want to drive for all I know!

I hope you have a lovely holiday, looking forward to the photos!

If you let him sleep in your bedroom he will expect it for evermore. So unless you want to make a choice that that is now where he sleeps, stick to the crate in the kitchen.

Hope you have a wonderful time :)
