Dexter isn't a big licker at all....he will have a go at hands if someone has had food in them and Chris lets him lick his face ( I don't !) but he's not a 'people' dog so he never tries to lick visitors ....
I know it's bad for dogs to lick people, I just can't care about it though. Charlie mouths hands and feet too (very, very gently). I get mildly embarrassed when someone (a vet, physio etc) objects on the basis it's a heinous crime for a dog to commit and I'm a terrible dog parent for not bringing my puppy up to know right from wrong...but, well, I get over that quite quickly! To be honest though, random ear licking that I did nothing to deter is not as bad as something I put on cue, which is if someone blows Charlie a kiss and makes a kissy noise with their mouth, he'll jump up and kiss them back on their mouth. I actually trained that one. That one really is my fault. Teach vet receptionists not to blow kisses though....
Hehe, I've trained the exact same thing! I've not tried doing it from a stand, but if I'm at with my head close to the dogs and I either say "kisses" or make kissing noises, they'll lick me. I imagine that they'd jump up to do it if they had to
