Well, I have 6 days left here in paradise before we make the trek home - we are driving so we should be back in 8-9 days. Yahoo!!! ;D Can't wait to see my pup again!! But in the meantime, he's been to the kennels for a week, and my friend's place for a weekend, and is now back home. Couple of tidbits from the last week: - man at the kennel said he did really well, was a nice dog, and was "one of the nicest chocolate labs they've had". Not sure what that meant, other than there must be a population of "bad" chocolate labs around home but it was nice to hear - middle son took him in vehicle using his vest harness hooked up to seatbelt (first time) and he did great! - friend picked him up from kennel and didn't have harness, he just bounced around from window to window in back seat. Not ideal, but at least he didn't try to join her in the front, which I was afraid of... - oldest son picked him up from friends place and drove him home using the vest harness....Simba chewed through seatbelt : : : Sigh....okay I'm really looking forward to going home but something tells me I had better get all the rest I can in this next week.....
Re: Simba updates Be strong Lisa 8) Lots of positive things to work on. Dexter hasn't been nearly as bad as you were imagining Plenty to get your teeth into. Difficult to know exactly where to start. Make sure you enjoy your last few days of your holidays!!
Re: Simba updates Yes, Jac, that IS the problem....but I will definitely be starting the Total Recall when I get back. And we'll see how things are with the jumping up/nipping, table surfing, snatching of forbidden items, not wanting to go outside, etc, etc, ETC!!! Must think positive: - he doesn't pull on lead (please God may that not have changed!) - he doesn't soil in the house - he's a sweet boy when he's not in manic puppy mode Once more, into the breach!!!!!
Re: Simba updates It's going to be so good to see your boy again Lisa, all the problems can be sorted (and, really, annoying and a bit worrying as they are, they are not SO bad...he is still a lovely, lovely dog) - just think how good it's going to be when you are back together with him! In the meantime, yes, have that rest!
Re: Simba updates Lisa, Simba has so many positives and the little negatives are very easily sorted. Thank goodness a big boy like him doesn't pull on the lead Enjoy the last few days of your holiday, come back refreshed and ready to join the rest of us with Total Recall. I can imagine the greeting you are going to get from your big boy ah I bet he has missed you and you him, I know one day away and I just want to get home to their daft slobbery faces Helen xx
Re: Simba updates Simba is going great (seatbelt aside) and it's lovely that you are looking forward to seeing him Sounds like he was a really good boy at the kennel You and your family are doing a wonderful job with him.
