Harley woke up this morning with gunky eyes :(. I cleaned them with warm water and her left eye looked very sore. She kept rubbing her face against my leg, my arm, or anything soft. Off to the vets we went (after a good run and play in the park). She's got conjunctivitis and has a small scratch on her eye too :( she was so good in the vets, she's starting to not be too tense which is an improvement. She sat nicely at home and let me put her eye drops in which is a first :)
Also another bonus is that she is back to 27kg which is an ideal weight for her according to my vets :)

Poor girl, that can be itchy and a scratch can hurt every time they blink. I suppose your Vet mentionned this to you, and you'd be careful anyway, but some conjunctivitis is contagious, to other dogs and to people.

Ah no, hope it clears up quickly. I had an awful faff with gunky dog eyes around Christmas. Got in sorted in the end though.

    Poor Harley :(
Willow had conjunctivitis last year. We had two types of drops to apply. Luckily, they seemed to soothe her eye immediately and so she was quite happy to have them applied several times a day.
I hope it clears up quickly.

Thanks all. Harley is still happy for me to put in her eye drops so I think they are hurting her. She is definately milking the sympathy though! ;)

Ah I hope they are better soon.I started to put drops of tears au naturelle in Dexter's eyes quite routinely if its blowy or a bit dusty out and about after we had a few sore eye episodes.

Poor Harley, conjunctivitis is so painful. Mabel had it twice last year.
    Get well soon.
