Got Lilly's new harness today and have the long lead ready to start her training with that! Should be fun...

Will have to make time after school between homework and other things but i think i can make it work because her training is really important :)

Oh I've just sat down with my notebook and pen( I'm old fashioned like that ;D) to start making a plan to train the stop whistle and I don't think I'm going to even get out the gate....... :(
my first stop was Pippas article on Totallygundogs....Introduction to Stop Whistle and in it it states the importance of having a dog that likes retrieving because it can be perceived as an unpleasant command......Dexter has a very apathetic retrieve ,he'll run after a ball once or twice say and then gives up unless I race him for it.......Help!What do I do now?Do I start training retreive and forget about the stop command for now?
I'm heading over to the stop whistle threads that Helen and Heidrun have been writing on ............

Panic over.....we aren't entering any gundog trials......ever!so it doesnt have to be perfect !Have read the training articles now and the initial stages are doable just with food rewards and you know,if nothing else it is ,it is something that will add interest to his walks ........I'm motivated again now......Sorry ;)
