Shadow had to have his legs showered yesterday evening. He found a very muddy spring to dig in. He looked like he was wearing black stockings and a damp sponge wasn't shifting it. The poor boy hates the shower and stood there looking utterly miserable as I rinsed him off. I must do some desensitisation with it at some point. On the plus side, he loves being towelled down afterwards :)

I have used puppy shampoos and had no problems. Rory was a different colour after I'd used it he was very dirty on this particular occasion. All my dogs just get muddy legs and tummies washed down with a watering can and warm water if they are too mucky. The only time i wash is if they have rolled. Doug and Rory don't but Midge does(its a way of life not just a hobby). I too have discovered the delights of liguid cow poop bathing but the worst ever was man poo which the person had clearly drunk too much beer and had a huge curry. I could smell her coming and I have no real sense of smell I could taste it. Luckily I have over the years of living with Moo developed a very good protocol for living through a rolling in stuff drama

Just to note: I do hose down outside when I can but we are still getting overnight temperatures below freezing here. The outside water is still turned off. I'm still scrounging/hoarding toonies and loonies so I can wash my car too.
