This morning I took Fred onto the field as normal. I threw the dummy out and sent him to get it. It fell about 6 yards from a fallen tree. He shot out after it, but went off right missing it, I thought daft dog, nothing I could do would make him go to where it was, instead he jumped over the tree branches and moved around the tree. I went up to see what was a matter. Suddenly a big rabbit appeared and stayed still about 2 feet away from Fred, Fred sniff it and I shouted leave it. and ran in the other direction.
    :ram: :run:
Fred came running up behind me. When I looked the rabbit had gone. I was so pleased that he didn't try and pick the rabbit up. He did keep looking back as if to say, Was it a rabbit?
So leave it does work

Well done Fred, could he please have a word with Mabel she's found 5 in the last 2 weeks. :wasntme: leave it just doesn't work so I'd got her to bring them to me and trade it for smelly sardines. Work in progress as OH took it upon himself to chase her. How many times have I told him not to do that. :computerrage:

Well done Fred, after this mornings rabbit incident I think he also needs to have a word with Jura. Time to get Total Recall out again

Well done Fred, Dexter has only seen rabbits in Pets at Home. Doesn't matter what time he's been out, the wild ones are nowhere to be seen.

Well done Fred, very good 'leave'. We had what seemed to be hundreds of rabbits running all around the garden in France so seeing them became a regular occurrence for Juno, who now rarely even looks at them. Now blackbirds in the garden are something else .....

She has grown, she all legs, she will be 6 month this week. I have been trying to get a photo of Fred and Annie, but one of them always moves just when I click the camera. Will keep trying.

Ack, this brought back memories of last summer, when my two caught a young hare. That was not a fun day.

They've never seen blackbirds until this week. There are loads in our little gîte's garden. They all need chasing, apparently. :wasntme:
