Just had to share this. David and Thomas took Hattie & Charlie for their walk this morning where they met a friend with their young Cocker Spaniel of about 6 ish months old. The little pup was off lead and so was Charlie and what followed was amazing, well at least to us. Charlie very rarely interacts with any other dog except Hattie and but today was different, he played with the puppy, they chased each other and Charlie play bowed encouraging the puppy which is something he has never done with any other dog. He was so very gentle with the pup and Charlie is a very big lad, Thomas was brimming when he got back, he said they just couldn't believe it and how wonderful it was to see Charlie interacting Charlie you might take a very long time to get there but when you do … you're just great xx
That really is lovely, special such gentle play, and not that bowling over, pushy rough play I have to avoid with other dogs and Bramble. Charlie is really going from strength to strength
He really is Kate, it's so silly but I am actually in tears - I really need to get a life x I am proud because Charlie is a rescue dog that came to us at 9 months old and he is now 5 years old, he had a lot of training issues, so any progress however small is a bit of a celebration here x
Helen, you and your family have every right to feel proud of Charlie and his achievements. With your love and patience he is now really thriving. I am so, so pleased for you xx
Helen, that is such a lovely post. You cry girl, Charlie is doing so well with all the care and love you and your family give him. Oh you do have a life, no need to get out more, well unless it's with Hattie, Charlie and your family as they are just the best times ever
So great to hear this, Helen! I have the utmost admiration for your dedication and perseverance you and David have shown with Charlie. And it's paying off, yippee!
Ah I like to think of Charlie making friends...can't believe he's 5 Helen, then that makes me think Detxer is nearly 4! Heavens ,time just whizzes by ......
