Saba goes in his crate overnight, and is happy there until one of us liberates him. During the week, OH is up by 07:00, and I stagger down by 08:30, have breakfast, and then potter about until about 09:30 when we go for a walk. Saba likes to be tucked up by 22:30, and is fine if we do have a late morning. We're very grateful that he is such a good lad overnight

Have you ever tried putting her in a covered crate or dark room?

Lie ins are sadly a thing of the past here as I have noisy children. But Jessie at 6 months happily sleeps to 7.30 when she goes to the loo and then will happily snooze on after this if we go back upstairs (although this is sadly to get ready for school and not for sleep, boooooo).

Jura (now 13 months) slept till 6.45am this morning, very unlike her. Normally she is an early riser, with 6am being the norm. Thankfully I'm a morning person too so it doesn't really bother me.

Molly goes in her pen about half 10 and is sitting awake in her bed when I come down about 6:45. Long may it continue.....

yep. Shes always wanted to get up a do stuff lucky I'm the same. She also does alerts if somethings wrong. When on of the other animals is sick or something she doesn't like she will let me know. Basically she thinks we need a trained ape with hands for this job I know I'll get mine. Shes woken me for ill cats a bird trapped outside, foxes nicking the bins(her bins!) and when Doug was very ill. The day he died she woke me a 3.30 because she knew something was wrong. I'm very useful to that small bossy dog

Duncan (now 16.5-17 weeks old) passes out around 730-830pm every night, which is pretty early even for an exhausted pup that gets lots of outside time and even if he stays up later till 1030-11pm with us he will get up around the same time in the morning- 545-6am, which is when my husband has to get up during the weekdays and take him out, so now I think we may never sleep past 545-6am again. I would even take 545-6am again though since the past week (I think due to uncomfortable teething) he has been waking us up crying and fussy around 4-430am everyday. One morning it was especially early and he was especially fussy and crying and we checked his gums out and 2 teeth had just poked through his gums that night - his gums were all red and swollen. I hope the 4-430am wake up calls end soon!

My friends with dogs that are 10-15 months old now have all said they can sleep in on the weekends till whenever they want at this point really (9-10am) so I can't wait until that day!

I have been very lucky. At about 4 months old Harley came up to sleep with us.........she hated the crate no matter what I tried. The first night we went to bed and she was on her bed next to ours and she woke up at 9.30am. We go to bed around 11pm and by the time she was 6 months old she would often sleep until 10am and gone. On work days she gets up with OH around 7am, has her breakfast then comes back to bed with me til I get up between 8-9.30am, then snoozes on the sofa til I go to work. Harley slept until 11.30am this weekend!

Reading these I realise I have been so lucky with night time sleeps...Bailey came to us at 8 weeks old and has slept through every night so far - initially in his crate next to our bed, now he has outgrown the initial one we borrowed, he has his bed next to ours and climbs on it and sleeps through until we get up. His usual routine is to come downstairs (or get carried as he is one spoilt pup - and our stairs are very steep!) when the OH gets up (I am an early riser anyway so am often up a good hour before the boys come downstairs), goes into the garden and does what he needs to, has his breakfast and then snoozes until we are ready to go out for his morning walk!

Mine is a good sleeper too, although during the week we are usually up by 07:00. On the weekends, one or the other of us will get up by 08:00 to take her down the garden for a pee and then give her her breakfast. She is then very happy to join us in bed for a cuddle, sometimes until 10:00 or so. Joyous weekend lie-ins!!

I just let her play on the xbox with the kids as they get up at stupid o'clock and that's the only way to get more sleep.

Gunnar is 15 weeks today. He is usually passed out by 8:30-9:00 downstairs by the fireplace. My husband will come up after letting him out one last time around 10:30. He's still getting up anywhere from 3:30-4:00 and won't go back up to bed. Thinks it's time to eat and play. Have tried many times to just do his business and go right back to crate, but he has none of it! Hopefully soon we shall sleep! I'm up at 5:15 to start my day, but 3:30, I am nowhere ready to start anything
