Thank you @Boogie, it is good to know they are not put in kennels but live a busy life. I knew someone who had a brood bitch for the Guide Dogs and one pup when it was sent to 'big school' developed a disabling skin problem, so the breeder was asked if she would like to have her back, as she would be no good as a guide dog. She had only had the dog a week or so and the skin problem cleared up, it had been due to stress. So perhaps the method of training has now changed. Another guide dog I used to see looked so miserable and he developed a skin problem due to stress, when he was on 'holiday' with other people, the skin cleared up. However, I have seen one very happy guide dog, the owner and dog had a good bond.
Well done. Another beautiful girl on the way to making someone a wonderful companion and life saver thanks to all your hard work.
Twiglet's trainer phoned today. She's settled really well at her boarder's and at school and loves the other dogs. Her kennel mate is called Pringle - two snacks together lol! Her recall is 100% and lead walking great. She's happy and cheerful and they are going to introduce the harness next week. I'm missing her more than you could imagine!
Tatze is absolutely fine, enjoying 1~1 attention. She doesn't worry at all when they come and go. The love of her life is Zaba - and she does cry when he leaves. She off to his house for a week tonight, so she'll be a happy girlie. I'm off to Malaga city with six of my girlie friends, plenty of magitos all round!!
And another person is given a whole new lease on life because of your selflessness. Well done, Mags and Twiglet! Hope you have a wonderful break!
I received a photo from Twiglet's school of her having fun in the paddling pool with her buddy, Pringle
And another, this time on her school's Facebook page! I was thinking of her when Springwatch was on, she adores the TV
