We lost our almost 15 year old lab in May, and have a new pup arriving home in August. My question is about bedding...I have our old guy's crate and bedding. I can wash the crate, but am hoping to wash the bedding that we had and reuse it for our new guy. I figure if I wash it several times with bleach and hot water perhaps a pup won't smell him. Or, on the other hand, would it be a comfort to smell a different dog who's not around?
We also have Karonda beds - I assume I can wash those as well.
    Advice welcome!

When we got our second dog (after our first dog had passed away) we re-used his bedding. We just washed it in a normal wash in the machine (no bleach or anything special, just normal laundry powder). It's worked out fine. We also did not want to get rid of our old dog's bed, for sentimental reasons. So, yes, I'd say that it is fine to re-use the bedding you have. :)

Thanks -- so many things to think about that we didn't have 15 years ago....training, toys, vet (our old guy saw specialists), pet insurance....

We reused bedding too, even the Drop N Flop which was filled with styrofoam beads. It didn't say on it you could wash the inner bed with the beads but I already had several times. The beads shrank a bit and I added new ones. That bed is now being used by a third dog and the cover has been replaced.
