jessie was spayed on Friday and has had runny poo ever since. She has been on an anti inflammatory and painkilling drug once a day up until yesterday, which I wondered if that was the cause. I gave her rice and fish for a day or so which improved things, but when I resumed normal food this morning, runny tummy is back. I don't think she could have eaten something she shouldn't as she has been on lead exercise since the operation. She is otherwise on very good form, so I am not overly worried. We see the nurse in the morning for a post op check, so I'll mention it then. Just curious in anyone else has had this post surgery?

Jura also had an upset tum post spay. I kept her on chicken and rice for a couple of days and then gradually reintroduced her normal food. I put it down to a bit of a reaction to the anaesthetic, though she was also quite quiet for around 48hrs after, then fine after that.

Hope Jessie's back to normal soon

My dog was spayed last Friday and the vets did say she might have one after op.
    Should not happen before.

My dog has been fine just a pain I cant go for long walks at the moment.

Sorry I can't remember if Juno suffered with runny poo after her spay or not but it may be due to the GA and other drugs. Best to have a word with the vet though just to be sure. Hope she's better soon.

Yes, Quinn had this for a week post spay. We thought it was from the GA and post-op painkillers but apparently it can be from stress and is quite common. We fed rice and cooked egg for a few days and slowly re-introduced kibble. It gradually cleared up - she took longer than most to bounce back to her old self.

Thanks for that. I'll keep on with the rice today and speak to the vet tomorrow. I sympathise with you Mr Grumpy about the walking. I find I've really missed it, we've been doing lots of training to try and keep her occupied! And it has it has been great for practicing walking to heal! Thanks again everyone!

could definitely be the meds she's taking. Metacam did not agree with our old lab & gave him runny poo.
